About
Calvary Hill Baptist Church
Calvary Hill Baptist Church exists to glorify God by-
- Reaching those without Christ,
- Educating the Saints about
Christ,
- Worshiping the Creator
through Christ, and
- Growing as a Body of Believers
in Christ.
Calvary Hill Baptist Church
is a family of people who genuinely care about each other and about
making a
difference in a mixed up world. We believe that God loves people and
that He
wants to give people significance and meaning in life. Together we are
trying
to discover God's plan for us as we learn new and creative ways to show
His
love to those around us. We believe that the only way people can really
know
God's plan for their lives is through knowing Jesus Christ as their
personal
Savior. Everything we do at CHBC is centered around the goal of
helping people
develop a faith relationship with Jesus, God's Son. We're excited
because we're
seeing people find a relationship with Jesus they never thought
possible. We
invite you to be our guest. You have no idea how happy we would be to
meet you
in person. Give us a chance to prove that you matter to God and you
matter to
us!
Brief
History
Calvary
Hill Baptist Church began as a small group of Christians gathering in a
household in 1985. The church grew and bought land
at 635 Lee Road where two single-wide trailers served as the church
building. After becoming incorporated in 1990 and quickly outgrowing a
new building, the church bought the current 28,000 sq. ft. facility at
1211 Lee Road on 6 acres of land in 1994. The church
continues to serve God under the current leadership of JD Templeton who
was elected to be our pastor in early 2005. He currently
serves with a committed staff of: Rev. Don Skelly
(Associate Pastor) and Richard Easterling (Praise Team Leader).
Church
Beliefs
This
church accepts the principles found in the “Baptist Faith and
Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in
1963. If you are desiring to become part of a Christian
fellowship of believers, we would love to have you become a member of
Calvary
Hill Baptist Church! But more important than being a member of our
church, we
want you to first experience a faith relationship with Jesus Christ,
and becoming a true, committed Christian. See our believe
page if you have questions about becoming a Christian.
I am a
Christian. How do I become a member of CHBC?
