Calvary Hill Baptist Church Becoming a member of CHBC We would love to have you unite with our church family! If you are a true, commited Christian, you may join Calvary Hill Baptist Church. At the end of each service an invitation is given to come forward where you can come to the front of the church. The pastor will be standing at the front where you can let him know of your desire for salvation, profession of faith, or request for membership. There are several ways this can be done. A person who is a new Christian joins Calvary Hill by his or her "profession of faith" in Jesus Christ. The new Christian will then be scheduled for Believer's Baptisim at the next scheduled Baptisim Service. A Word About Baptisim- For New

If you have recently become a Christian, we strongly suggest your next step in your Christian life is to make a public profession of your new faith by Beliver's Baptism. Believer's Baptisim, (also called Immersion Baptisim) is a ceremony where the Christian is entirely submerged or immersed under water and then raised up out of the water again as a testimony of the salvation that he or she has experienced through Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes the death, burial and ressurection that Jesus did for us, and represents the new life we now have in Christ. Being baptized does not make you a Christian, nor by no means does this "complete" or make any "more real" your salvation in Jesus Christ. It is rather, an affirmation that you have become a Christian. and we at Calvary Hill believe it is one of the first steps of obedience in the Christian life. If you are a Christian from another Christian denomination, and wish to unite with us at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, but have not been baptized by immersion, you will be asked to recieve Believer's Baptism to become a "Baptist", thus completing your church membership. If you are already a Christian and a member of another Southern Baptist church, you may join "by letter." All this means is that we will ask for your former church's name and address and send them a letter requesting that they transfer your church membership to us. We will handle all the details! If you are from another Christian denomination, there are 2 ways to join. If you became a Christian and were baptized by immersion in a church of another denomination, you may join the church "by statement" of faith in Jesus Christ stating that you have alrady been baptized. If you are a Christian, but have not been baptized by immerson, you may join the church "by statement- for baptisim." You are simply stating that you are already a Christian and you are willing to become a Member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church by following through in Believer's Baptism (see above). If you are interested in becoming a Christian, making a public profession of your Faith in Jesus Christ, or wish to become a member of Calvary Hill, at the end of each service an invitation is given to come forward where you can come to the front of the church.
