Music is an important part of our worship here at CHBC. Although music is an important element in worship, worship is not music alone!  Prayer, the reading and teaching of God's Word, the collection of tithes and offerings and even the fellowship (handshaking) time in the service are all parts of worship!  That said, music is probably the term most commonly associated with the term worship.  As part of the worship, music is about God and for God.  We do not sing to entertain, nor for our own pleasure and enjoyment (although it IS enjoyable to worship through song!!), we sing to worship and give glory to Him. 

While our style is a contemporary and band driven sound, we sing familiar, traditional hymns of the faith that express our belief in God and His son Jesus Christ- who they are, and what they have done. Of course, we also sing newer songs of faith- many of which quote scripture, and many of which sing from a first person standpoint to God, expressing praise for whom He is, the many names of God, declaring his attributes, and what he has done for each of us on a personal level.  We believe that it is important to sing about God, acknowledging who He is, and to sing to God, acknowledging who we are, and our absolute need and reliance upon Him. 

Our Praise Team consists of two components, the Celebration Singers are the song leaders, and are accompanied by the Worship Band in our musical Praise and Worship in the Sunday Worship Service.  Our worship Band is led by Richard Easterling. We have an exciting time singing with them in every worship service! If you love to play or sing, we have a place for you to serve!
