How it all started...
Cedar Hills Baptist Church was constituted on September 28, 1958, as a mission of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. There were 162 in Sunday School that day, with even more participating in corporate worship. The desire was the plant a beacon for the gospel in this community. In 1972, the church voted to open Cedar Hills Baptist Christian School, which has seen thousands of students receive Christian education over that time. The school now has over 215 students enrolled and continues to be a thriving ministry, with both the church and school sharing the campus at 4200 Jammes Road.
For over 65 years, Cedar Hills Baptist Church has been a lighthouse for the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Cedar Hills community and beyond. Over that time, our church has since planted multiple new works around the city, and has been an active and participating member of First Coast Churches, the Florida Baptist Convention, as well as the Southern Baptist Convention.

Where we are...
After all these years, Cedar Hills Baptist Church continues to share the gospel with the Cedar Hills community. Now a landmark of the community, Cedar Hills Baptist Church seeks to share the love of Jesus through intentional acts of ministry and missions. With programming for all ages, we desire to be a church for the community.
As the world has changed, we believe that the gospel is just as relevant today as it was in 1958 when our first worship service was held. We still seek to be gospel-oriented, discipleship-driven, Great Commission-minded, and people-focused. If you don't currently have a church home, we would love to invite you to be a part of our church family!

Where we are headed...
Our church recently celebrated 65 years of ministry in the Cedar Hills community. And, we most certainly celebrated. We celebrated 65 years of changed lives, real people who met a real Jesus, and their entire eternal destination changed through the broken body and shed blood of Jesus!
And, while our church has changed over the years, people have come and gone, the church remains. And while the demographics of our neighborhoods, and our city, have changed over the years, the church remains. As military members have been commissioned by our church to their next duty station, the church remains.
But, in the midst of all the change, one things remains constant: the good news of Jesus Christ as man's lone avenue of salvation. And, our prayer is that the Lord will continue to use Cedar Hills Baptist Church to share that message locally, regionally, and globally, as we seek to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that Jesus has commanded us.
We invite you to join us on this journey!
